Ancelloti's comments were just sound bites and although it wasn't his fault they smacked a little of hypocrisy on behalf of Chelsea F.C..
It wasn't that long ago that Chelsea were in exactly the same position and i wonder, if Ancelloti had been appointed during those early days of Chelsea's metamorphosis, would he have been choosing the same assertions about money not being enough to attract the best players, as part of his opening speech to the club?
Of course he wouldn't. He'd have been saying the exact opposite.
It left me feeling a bit hollow to be honest.

Great article and well written. Another thing about the Chelski revolution was that there wasn't the astronomical wages in those days as there are now. So if Chelski were starting today, they would be in exactly the same position as we are now. It is only through good fortune that firstly Matthew Harding, then Abramovic came along to bolster their bank balance. Everyone conveniently forgets that for all Chelski's success before Abramovich got there, they were days from financial meltdown, same as us before our generous benefactor came along. The ones who grip my sh*t though are the hacks and Manure loving ex-players who take great pains to rip the crap out of us for anything and everything. Ian McGarry of The Sun (you know him, the one who almost put his mortgage on Robinho not being at our club at the end of January) takes particular joy in having a go at us. I have had a go at numerous pundits (including Andy Gray) who slag our club off, but the comments never seem to see light of day...funny that isn't it?? The only way we will get through this is to keep strong and hold onto our beliefs...CTID!!

You just got to keep fighting and defend the club. The cosy top 4 have an arrangement or understanding developed over years with the media and SSN is the mouthpiece for the staus quo.
We are, they know damn well at some point sooner rather than later going to wreck this arrangement. One of the protected ones will face the harsh financial realities of the real world.
It is this fear that binds the media and top four against us.
But keep fighting, the MUEN some 24 months or so back had an advert on our web page in the paper of a rubbish dump with flies buzzing round it.
It was an insult, I wrote and wrote to no avail untill finally I wrote to the editor demanding it was taken off or I would write to all the papers advertizers threatning a boycott of thier products through association with the MUEN.
The advert went off the next day.
So dont stop, we will win in the end just need to hit them where it hurts most, either financially or otherwise.

Good article - well thought through and well written. So let's take ourselves forward a couple more weeks (and another 20-30 odd City Transfer targets!!).

TEVEZ: Say he opts for Chelsea blue, rather than true blue - yeah, just as it should be, they'll say.. He has voted for football & ambition over money'
BUT HAS HE?? He gets the same deal there as his erstwhile employers in Stretford but with MORE money!! He won't be going straight into the team week in, week out. He will get lots of bench time (won't feel loved) and misses out (more often than not) on the BIG games to others (Drogba, Anelka et al). At City he will be getting first team football AND LOTS OF IT. He says that is what he wants!! Yeah, he will also get lots more money but that kind of goes with the territory, doesn't it?! He (his agent) professes he wants to be in a club 'with ambition' and be part of the building process. Is that Chelsea? Maybe.....6-7 years ago!! But that does sound like Eastlands, tho.

Time will tell, but we live in hope. Either way, don't let tham tell us City is only about money, I mean Real Madrid has a 'project' but they don't get ridiculed for it! Approaching £200M and still no jokes or outrage.

STURRIDGE: Has gone to Chelsea - for football, ambition?? Again, lots of bench time, Dan. But don't let me stop you counting your cash & I do wish you well, genuinely. Sadly, I think you will need it - ask SWP what moving to Chelsea does to you, and he was a better player than you when he went!

ETO'O: I get the impression he just wants more cash (from Barca) - using City as a 'stalking horse' but, if I am wrong, how exciting would it be to see him at Eastlands? Also, if 'Top 4' came in for him, like KAKA before, I reckon he would let go (somewhat) on the £12.5M he wants from Barca to go.

Finally, I hope MH gets over this Terry thing - 3 or 4 years he was something, not sure anymore, he is not the player he thinks he is! MH should go for Lescott, Samba, either/or or even both.

Cheers for now
