That elusive seventh spot
ONLY TWO games left and only four teams in it: Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Fulham and West Ham United.
City play Tottenham Hotspur and Bolton Wanderers
Fulham play Newcastle and Everton
West Ham play Middlesborough and Everton
Tottenham Hotspur play Manchester City and Liverpool
A seventh place finish for us would be City's best perfomance in seventeen years since ending 1992 in fifth.
7 Fulham 36 50
8 Tottenham 36 48
9 West Ham Utd 36 48
10 Man City 36 47
Fulham are away at St Jimmy's this weekend, that should be a game and a half, the crowd and the team at Newcastle are really behind Shearer now, and I think he will keep them up. Fulham will lose this one.
West Ham away at Goodison, well, no London club has won there this season, and although Carlton Cole is back in for the 'ammers, I don't see why this fixture should give them three points, one at the most, I reckon
So the whole focus really falls on us away at Spurs - a six-pointer if ever there was one.
We are going there after a defeat in the derby which was pretty embarrassing in that it showed the gap between the two teams, and the fact that we are still struggling to win away from home. You can expect the teams to be fired up chasing the same Europa dream, so there will be fireworks.
Robinho and SWP are both doubts for this game, so we need to go spit or bust, it looks like this team, with either Caicedo up front or Bojinov.
Given
Richards Dunne Ned Bridge
Zabaleta Kompany
Elano Ireland Petrov
Caicedo
This weekend is our last chance, let's not blow it.

Become a distraction... I don't think the world would fall in if we don't get 7th.... Some quality signings and we should be looking for a top 6 finish with and outside chance of breaking into the top 4... I doubt Europa league would influence what players we could attract as champions league is where they really will want to be...
Thoughts ?
