"OH, WHEN THE BLUES, GO MARCHIN' IN"
"OH WHEN THE BLUES GO MARCHIN' IN... I wanna be..."
Another derby match this Sunday at their place, mancityblues take a deep breath and look at our chances;
Anything goes. Players become completely different in a derby situation and although I'm expecting to see SWP and Ireland crunched regularly, I have faith in Zabaleta and Kompany and I think De Jong is fairly solid (if Gelson Fernandes has to come on, we've had it!) Caicedo's not great but if you'd told me Vassel and Benjani would score last season I'd've laughed very loud.
I can take losing to them this season, but not if we play like pussies and if anyone gives less than 100%, flog 'em. No room for passengers. (from Dinosaur Jr Blue)
Shaun Wright-Phillips was systematically targeted in the home derby. They took it in turns to clog him. When one was yellow carded another stepped up to kick him until he in turn got carded. five or six were booked in the end. The only upside was that Ronaldo was one of those who got a yellow and then got another one for the handball when he was protecting his face, thought he heard a whistle, was put off by the crowd or whatever the excuse was - and their ultra-hypocritical Manager has the gall to demand protection from the referees for his favourite boy. What a joke. (Bluesky)
To be honest, City have their moments, but for the most part we are too slow and indecisive moving the ball around (And there are way too many back-passes to the keeper - a sure sign of limited confidence and/or ability). The contrast between the speed and accuracy of our passing and (for example) Arsenal's a few weeks back was staggeringly obvious.
There's been some improvement in the last couple of games or so (reflected in the results), but against the rags we will need to think that bit quicker and play with much greater conviction then we have been doing. Too much of the usual hesitation, dithering, and giving the ball away in too many unforced errors - and they'll kill us....but then again hopefully not. City to win 2-4 (It'll be 0-3 at half time)!! (Sir Ken)
We will be fine. and three points will be ours on Sunday adding to a long list of great derby matches
