Given or Hart? Why not both?
August 10th, 2010It's good to see two top quality keepers both wanting to be number one, and neither wanting or willing to sit on the bench picking up their wages.
The sign of a great manager is how he deals with situations like this; I would want to keep them both and let them know that the man who performs best gets the jersey, but there is an equaly as good keeper waiting to take over if they fail to deliver. There can also b e an occasional switch if it is felt that an opposition side pose a threat that one is more capable of dealing with than the other.
(Who me? nah)
I watched the press conference with Given yesterday and what he did say was that himself and Joe were probably of the same mind; whichever one of them doesn't start on Saturday will have to sit down with the club and discuss their future.
That's fair enough but if it comes down to one or the other then it has to be Hart for me.

When Chavs become a true powerhouse they had two keepers that could start in any team, is it a big problem if we have the same? So many matches, so many competitions, is it really that bad to have one keeper for the league and another for cups?
honestly, we have enough defenders for both situations

Well Given is one good Goalie, but I dont understand these threats he is making! He can get ten points a season for us but clearly he is not comfortable with competition. Hart has done well waiting his time and he has been patient.
He said that he has not come to sit on the bench and I can understand that but if he want to play all the time there's always an option for him to go back Newcastle. Selling him to Arsenal would be stupid! I think that there is room for both since there will be lots of games. What I dont like about is this mentality of making threats about leaving.
Hart is a our future No1 no doubt about it

What do you think?
